Officers Respond to Late Night Call of Shots Fired

From 2024 to 2025, homicide and non-fatal shooting numbers are showing a decline, according to the Baltimore Police Department. 

In 2025, there were 112 non-fatal shootings and 46 homicides, an approximate 25% decline in non-fatal shootings and an approximate 27% decline in homicides. 

In addition to these records, an ongoing homicide investigation was reported in the southeast district.

Southeast District police officers responded to a call of shots fired at approximately 11:56 p.m. on May 14.

On the 2300 block of Jefferson Street, officers found a 36-year-old male victim critically injured from a life threatening gunshot wound. 

Medical personnel transported the victim to a local hospital where he later died. Police have not yet released the victim’s name.
